Interactive Resume Brainstorm Ideas

Main Idea:

Environment- creepy haunted woods, zoom in on one tree. When mouse rolls over specific branch, it grows out and words appear above the branch. There will be a hole in the center of the tree with scary red eyes. Vines will slowly be growing around the tree.

3 Goals For Senior Year

My Junior year, I did't take very many things seriously. I was excited to be at a new school and focusing on photography and video/audio. I did take notes, but looking back at those notes now I realize most of them are pretty much useless. They're missing critial sections and I always had to ask someone else what the notes were in order to fill in the blanks. Here are the top 3 things I missed and/or would like to learn more about.

1.FLASH

I have a hard time with coding and HTML. I need to learn how to make a Flash movie. I know the basics but I definately need some review and I would like to become stronger with Flash, because that is a program I really enjoy working with.

2.WEB DESIGN

I don't care much for web design. It is tedious and irritating. There's so many little details that go into it and I tend to miss the little details more often than not. However, I want my interactive resume to reflect my web design abilities. It is a crutial part of media design, and though I don't like it it is something I need to know about. I always want to make a web site I can be proud of.

3.PHOTOSHOP

I am already pretty strong with Photoshop, but I would like to learn some more advanced skills and brush up on the skills I learned last year.

Finished Infograpgic

Independent Study

1. My topic will be about photo manipulation in Adobe Photoshop cs3

2. I will spend my time doing tutorials and learning different techniques.

3. If I know more about Photoshop and how to create attractive, interesting pictures and/or graphics, it will help me alot. As a graphic designer, designing is the most important skill you can posses. Its in the name!

4. http://www.pslover.com/tutorials/photo-effects/1

5. I will showcase the photos I have manipulated and explain how I achieved the look.

Portfolio Planning

Possible domain names for my site;
http://www.EmSlaughter.com
http://www.EmileeSlaughter.com

My main interest is photography. For my portfolio site, I would probably end up showcasing my photos more than anything else. I also love to draw. That is an area I hope to grow in. I would like my artwork to take me somewhere, possibly starting out as drawing or photographing things for advertisment purposes.

This man is one of my all-time favorite artists. I love his designs and the way he has set up his website.

What iThink about iPad

Apple has just released their newest product, the iPad.
The iPad has many apps, games, ebooks, movies and so on. You can listen to music, surf the web and take it with you anywhere. Sound familiar? It should. The iPad is nothing more than a huge iPod. I think it is an ineresting device, but it is not something I would spend money on.
Some negative points about the iPad are that it does not have a camera, a keyboard, a disc drive, or anything else you would find on a normal computer. You cannot buy apps and movies from just anywhere, you must buy them from the Apple store. And if the Apple store doesnt have it? Well, then your just S.O.L. There are some positive things about the iPad as well. It is very useful for reading books and watching movies. It is small and compact; you can take it virtually anywhere. It could potentially replace your home entertainment system, all your DVD's and VHS's and even your bookshelf. Not to mention your boardgames!
From an entertainment standpoint, the iPad is a great product. But if you're looking for something to write papers with, or do your homework, I would not recommend it. The iPad does have options though. For the low low price of $80.00 you can purchase iWork for your iPad! iWork is Apples version of Microsoft Word. Why would you want to pay $80.00 for something that comes standard on other computers? Basically, it all comes down to what you're looking for.

Yearbook Cover Design

Imagine a line down the center of the design; thats where the binding of the book will be. So the words and date will be on the front, and the rest will be on the back.

I really like it, but I think it could use something else. Not sure what though. I hope mine is chosen...however there are alot of other talented students that are submiting their designs as well. If nothing else, Im pleased with it.

HTML

What is HTML used for?

HTML stands for hypertext markup language. It is used to code webpages and control how they look.

Give 5 examples of HTML tags, how are they formated?

All elements start with an opening tag and end with a closing tag. All elements start with an opening baracket and end with a closing bracket. In between the brackets is the body content. The "/" symbol is used to end an HTML element.

Parent and child elements; The "parent" element always come before the "child" element in an HTML sequence. If an elements contains other elements inside of it, it is called the "parent" element.

For the most part, I understand coding. Many people our age have been exposed to coding through Myspace. Codes are used to make layouts and edit your Myspace profile.
Here is an example of what I know from previous experience;

coding is great! :-)
